The creation and enjoyment of music has likely been around since the evolution of human beings. However, the recording and subsequent playback of music is a more recent phenomenon.
Since music recording began in 1877, there has been a great deal of technological progression. Below are photos of the various means for storing music through the ages beginning with a record up to today’s MP3 players that can store thousands and thousands of songs.
